Pupil Leadership Team
We believe that allowing our pupils to have a voice in shaping their school environment fosters a greater sense of engagement and pride in their school community. Our junior leadership teams provide pupils with the opportunity to develop essential leadership skills, such as teamwork, communication and decision-making. These skills will be invaluable to them in later life, both at secondary school and in the workplace.
School Council
Roles and Responsibilities
- Act as an ambassador for the school
- Represent pupil voice on behalf of every class
- Work with the local and wider community
- Monitor lost property
- Monitor aspects of the school including the curriculum, the behaviour and wellbeing of pupils and our school environment
- Help the local advisors and senior leadership team to make decisions on behalf of the pupils
- Plan, organise and promote fundraising events
House Captains and Vice House Captains
Roles and Responsibilities
- Act as an ambassador for the school
- Develop pride and spirit in the school and within our respective sporting teams
- Be a model of good leadership and positive sporting behaviour to the whole school community
- Encourage and organise pupils to represent their house in house competitions
- At the end of the year, the winning captains will receive the house trophy on behalf of their house
- Referee and help run house competitions
Maths Ambassadors
Roles and Responsibilities
- Create a support network for maths across the school and other schools in the Circle Trust
- Help to create and implement competitions for Times Tables Rock Stars across school
- Support parents by producing how to videos and guides
Reading Ambassadors
Roles and Responsibilities
- Create a support network for reading across the school and other schools in the Circle Trust
- Promote the library and reading across the school
- Support parents by producing how to videos and guides
- Suggest new material for the school library
Digital Leaders
Roles and Responsibilities
- Help and provide advice and guidance to others around the effectiveness of technology
- Promote online safety across the school
- Be the class IT ‘guru’
- Review new apps and programmes and feedback to the Computing Lead
- Ensure that IT hardwear is being looked after responsibly
Sports Leaders
Roles and Responsibilities
- Promote fair play and playing to the rules of sport
- Ensure that sports equipment is being looked after responsibly
- Lead a multi-sports club
- Demonstrate qualities such as team-work, good listening skills, fair play and respect
- Lead and event at a local multi sports festival for pupils from other schools
Active Movement Ambassadors
Roles and Responsibilities
- Help encourage regular movement breaks in class
- Encourage a daily walk
- Hold regular meetings with Active Movement champion and encourage fellow pupils in half-termly Active Movement initiatives
- Help classmates embrace an active lifestyle outside of school
